Original families served: 1,480
Passing-on families: 2,835
1. To bring 1,480 original and 2,835 POG families above the poverty line and improve their living conditions by 2016.
2. To teach 4,315 SHG members to mitigate the effects of climate change through adaptation to their situation and improvement of the environment by 2016
3. To enable 4,315 families to increase the value addition of their production through improved market linkages by 2016.Activities:
4. To empower all target communities to will achieve solidarity and social harmony by 2016
- Form SHGs
- Distribute heifers and other gifts to 1,480 families
- Conduct trainings on animal, agricultural production, nutrition, financial management sanitation, water treatment, saving and credit management, environment, climate change, integrated agricultural, family production management, Heifer Cornerstones/PSRP
- POGs
- Implement demonstrative production models
- Exchange study visits
- Replicate successful production models
- Provide trainings on family production management, marketing, cooperatives to improve their product quality and be able to get reasonal price for their products with bigger volumes
- Support farmers to access the market information and initiate the market link through the local authorities and project partners’ resources (having contracts with businesses for product consuming, for reasonable price inputs- seeds, fertilizers, etc.)
- Form SHGs, PMCs, subgroups
- Trainings on group fund management & utilization, leadership, CF capacity building, gender equity, participatory community planning.
- PSRP every three months
- Education regarding domestic violence, alcohol abuse, gambling through monthly group meetings
- Teaching illiterate members how to read and write by literate members
- Collective activities
